Got a tip for us? same problem: two months old iMac 27, the SD card slot worked fine until yesterday and all of a sudden does not recognize the cards any more. It would be a nightmare to carry the iMac to an ASP for nothing. It was kind of an accident that I started dragging, so I let go immediately: I swear that the following animation actually looked like that the SD card device went up Vmware Fusion and Parallels have been known to hijack the SDcard slot - none of these are installed. Not a bad idea, an alternative from going into the computer and changing the original factory reader.
