I am now at the point I was before (after installing/configuring programs after refresh) except Cortana still works but wasted a day by having to do the refresh. Please try the request again. Just use Classic Shell and search will work perfectly. Thank you.

The ‘Help" that I get from Microsoft is ‘We have done our best so now you have to contact the maker of the machine it came in & make them give I can not use cmd as administrator because Search doesn't work in the first place.
